:A Masquerade Wedding:

Hi everyone! Liddy here.. I have some great ideas for those who are looking to do a “Mardi Gras” themed wedding but in a classy style
To start the wedding off you need a fantastic invitation to let everyone know you are marrying the man of your dreams. You could also let your guests know that they can dress up in some costume or at least bring a mask too! Look at this elegant scroll..

My inspiration for this wedding theme came from the film version of Phantom of the Opera. For those of you who haven’t seen it… there is this GORGEOUS scene where everyone is at a masquerade ball. Below you’ll see a film shot from that particular scene.. and of course I love the idea of the bride and groom wearing decorative masks.. check out these!

To go along with the whole “masquerade” theme, what if instead of you and your bridesmaids holding flowers.. they hold fabulous fans? Look at this bridal party! … I also love this picture of the bride with the masks.. it shows that you could really do masks or the fans or maybe even both?

Speaking of the bridesmaids.. why not let them get creative? You could have them all be in one color dress.. but let everyone pick a different color shoe and accessories! They could even have fans that incorporate all the colors they choose. This picture showcases this idea.. SO COLORFUL!

Going forward with the girls, you could have them all be in black dresses. I really like this vintage looking dress and the hairstyle. But check out the cake.. it’s not just a cake.. it’s cupcakes too!! So the top is the ‘anniversary layer’ and the bottom is for your guests. And the cupcakes are all different but cohesively go together too. I also really like the feathers on top.

And last but not least. I think if you are going with this theme then make sure you get a really elegant reception space. Look at this ballroom with the ornate chandeliers.. TOTALLY fits in with the theme. Most brides forget about that part.. your whole atmosphere can help or hurt your wedding theme so make sure you either pick a reception site that fits yours or if you don’t have one in mind.. find a really great venue you love and revolve a theme around it ![]()

Hope you liked it! Have a safe and fantastic Mardi Gras!!
